Spinal Energetics
Spinal Energetics is a modality developed by Chiropractor and Counsellor Dr Sarah Jane. It is a practice that combines Eastern and Western thought, to interact with a person’s spine, nervous system and energetic field, to harness a person’s own innate wisdom to know and heal themselves.
Each living being is not just a physical form but also a being of energy. Energy encompasses each of our aspects; physical, emotional, mental, spiritual,
and soul: Woven together with our ancestry, experiences, stories, personality, and character. Energy is a spectrum from underactive to overactive. As Spinal Energetics practitioners, we intend to support our clients in meeting the middle path of homeostasis; balance, as we believe that wellbeing is each person’s birthright.
Through light yet powerful touch (and often no touch), an organic flow of movement and sound begins and progresses to shift, unwind, discover and release tension, resistance, and stories that may have been stored in the body. The movements and sounds are natural and primordial, they are a response to the treatment and are driven by an individual's energy, intuition and instinct.

At the start of your Spinal Energetics session, we will sit down with you and go over the client intake form, chat about what to expect and answer any questions you might have. You will then be guided through a grounding/connection meditation and a body scan to best prepare for your session and this gives us an indication of how you are feeling in your body that day.
Next, we get you to lie down on the spinal table and from there we will determine which processes/chakras we will be working with that day using our diagnostic testing and pendulum. Throughout the session, we may also use visualisation, movement cues/prompts and breathing techniques to help you relax and release. There can be light touch or no touch at all involved and there will be guidance throughout the session.
Each client will have their own unique experience and a range of emotions can surface during a session to be felt and complete their cycle & let it go from the energetic body. Energy is moved through breath, sound and movement and we encourage full expression and letting go of any resistance in this safe space.
After the session, we will cleanse with sage and ground back into the physical space and body. We will debrief and talk about the session, and anything that surfaced for you and talk about aftercare/integration.

Choose a quiet and private room where you won't be disturbed during the session (pets included).
You can use your bed, massage bed, or yoga mat. You are also welcome to have a blanket available.
Feel free to add anything to your room to make it calming and comfortable and such as essential oils, crystals, incense etc.
Ensure the room you choose is well-lit so I can see you clearly. You can use an eye mask to block out the light if needed.
Check your internet connection to ensure a stable and smooth online experience.
Test your microphone and speakers to ensure clear communication.
Some clients prefer using headphones or a quality speaker to enhance the audio quality of the session without external distractions.
Position your webcam in a way that I can see you clearly from head to toe (lying horizontally).
Arrive 5-10 minutes early to your session time so you can be relaxed and have time to set a positive intention for your healing session.

Through your Spinal Energetics session, you have received an opportunity to discover, release and connect! Each session involves both the physical body and the energetic self; this blend can allow for increased communication between your body-nervous system, and the energetic layers of self.
Each Spinal Energetics session can be a lot of information to process, unwind, reorganise and integrate; because of this, it is important to give yourself nurturing time after and between each session.
Doing other forms of big energetic work after or between sessions is not advised. It is recommended to continue or begin subtle energy practices such as gentle meditation, journalling, Yoga, massage etc. After your session, being aware of the potential effects is important. Please note that your response to each session may vary, and you will continue to respond to the session over the next 12- 72 hours, sometimes longer.
IT IS NOT UNCOMMON TO NOTICE THESE SYMPTOMS AFTER A SESSION
Feeling disorientated or light-headed
Feeling more energised or feeling exhausted
Detoxification experiences such as nausea, change in bowel movements or headaches
Greater awareness of your body and sensations
Emotional releases like crying, laughing, bursts of anger etc
Changes in breath during and after sessions
Regions of ease or discomfort

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Spinal Energetics level one is not suitable for the following:
• The first and final trimester of pregnancy, or during six months postpartum
• Children under 12
• Elderly persons over the age of 75
• Diagnosed Severe PTSD
• Severe mental health conditions (bipolar, schizophrenia, psychosis)
• Currently taking heavy medication that alters brain chemistry (anti- depressant, anti-anxiety, antipsychotic)
• Recent physical injuries, fractures and/or surgeries
• Epilepsy
• History or diagnosis of aneurysms
• Cardiovascular problems
• History of seizures
•Severe Asthma
•Heart disease
•Heart conditions
•Hospitalisation for any psychiatric condition, emotional crisis, or spiritual emergence within the past three years
•Any other medical, psychiatric or physical conditions that would impair or affect their ability to engage in activities involving intense physical and/or emotional release.
• Spinal Energetics practitioners cannot treat any person under the influence of any illicit substances or plant medicine.
